for awhile ive been coding up some HTML games (simple quizes and interactive stories) and making some .ppt (powerpoint) games but now i want to upload them to a website without having to pay. whats a good free webhost that supports HTML and .PPT? a subdomain would be good. also - is there one that works with filezilla or similar? because that would help alot Joe. |

While I've ranted and complained about their paid services, I find that Freehostia's free services are more than adequate. You have access to almost everything that a paid hosting plan offers, including FTP access (Filezilla).

works with filezilla, and offers 1500 mb of space. its not much but its good. i dont know if it works with .PPT. iver never heard of that before, but it of coruse works with .PHP -------------------- Fix everything, if nothing is left to fix than break something.

QUOTE offers 1500 mb of space. its not much but its good. Depending on what kind of website. If you're site is going over even SLIGHTLY 100MB then you have some pretty poor coding / image sizes... Or you're hosting videos/Stock photography or programs to be downloaded. Unless you're doing a CMS style site. Even then you'd need access to a database. I'm not quit sure that many Free hosting sites would allow you access to make a Database. I could be wrong! I'd be very interested in knowing of any free hostings that offer them. well see, he will be putting games on his site. i think that that will take up a bit of memory, especiouly when he makes or gets more of them. and yes i have videos (not to download) and programs on my site; thats why i need alot of memory.
oh and if your looking for a FREE host, than your site will look like this: "www.mysite.thishost.com" and you will think thats a little long, if you want to shorten it up go to "www.dot.tk" and they will shorten it for you for free. so your site will look like this "www.mysite.tk" i use it and it works good P.S. if you go to that site it does not help me in any way, im just trying to help them. ive been using dot.tk for almost a year now and im happy with it =) you can make money with dot.tk, just dont try to scam them or they will kick you off, believe me... -------------------- Fix everything, if nothing is left to fix than break something.

Just to add for reference for others that might be interested, I use http://www.jimdo.com/ though I think they only give you 50 MB of space.
I never tried any others though so I would be interested in hearing how you get on as that site you have chosen does not come out lookingso good on WOT http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/000webhost.com This post has been edited by nizzy: Feb 9 2010, 11:41 AM |

the sites look how you make them look, mine is pretty god but i code it myself.
i do not believe that "WOT" site, i have gotten no spam at all from 000webhost.com their costamer service is not the best...takes almost 2 days for any help at all, but if you use these forums than you can get good help. i have been using it for a while and i have found no scams, no malware/spyware, or anyhting bad at all. the worst thing is the costamer service sorry that i cant spell the greatest, im on a computer with no spell check =( -------------------- Fix everything, if nothing is left to fix than break something.
