My daughter downloaded a game called Abe's Oddessey and now I am unable to uninstall it. It does not come up on the currently installed programs list. I have tried to directly delete the folder but I get a message - Cannot delete Abe's Oddessey. It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again.
I am stuck and would be glad of any suggestions.

Three suggestions:
1. Boot up in safe mode and see if you can delete the folder or files individually;
2. Download the free Unlocker program, which generally gets rid of
stubborn files;
http://www.scanwith.com/download/Unlocker.htm
Also look in Documents and Settings\YourName\Application data -
there may be other remnants there.
3. Use system restore, if you have restore points;
Then scan your computer with Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware,
for good measure.

if you press 'ctrl' and 'alt' and 'del' at the same time task manager will open - go into processes and close anything that might be related to abes oddesey - but NOTHING with the term windows or microsoft in it.
then go into the control panel and then add or remove programs. then simply select abes oddesey and uninstall it.
Joe.
