OS Win ME 850mhz Intel processor
Hello,
I've been running my PC for the best part of 10 years without too long a break. I do have a newer laptop that i can use, but with Zone Alarm Security Suite, and various other antivirus and anti spyware programmes intalled on my PC which may potentiallly be out of action for 7 months; i'm going to run way out of date with so much stuff including MS security updates.
My question is: When i come to restart my PC, i'm going to be way out of date. Are there any things/strategies i can do to best help myself or is it simply a matter of trawling through and updating backdated information manually?
Thanks,
jazzymazzy

You shouldn't have to do too many updates. Windows is only issuing Critical Updates for ME and they only come out once a month if at all. When you reconnect you will have one large update for ZA Security Suite and programs like Ad-Aware and Spybot but they shouldn't be too big either. Nobody knows what those updates will be at this time so its not like they can be done in advance.
One thing that I would do is put a fresh battery in the motherboard before you pack it away so your CMOS setings will be intact when you power it back up.
