Hey guys,

I was thinking of a new system build....Im not happy with the speed of my rig i want faster.
Nothings for definate yet but i was just getting some ideas on parts.

budget is around £650 ish....i plan to keep the following for my new build:

Ati 4890
windows 7.
500Gb hard drive for storage.

That looks like a very good build. If you are planning on using Crossfire, you may want a 790FX motherboard. Also, if your version of Windows 7 is OEM, you cannot move it over to a new motherboard due to licensing restrictions. Boxed, full retail copies of Windows do not have this restriction.

So do you think that it will be alot faster than my current machine?

also nope i dont plan on Crossfire,when the time comess il just upgarde to another single card setup :huh:

and for the windows 7 question,I have a boxed retail version :huh:

also, if you're gettin win7, make sure your games are compatible with it, because i upgraded my laptop to win7 (which is pretty cool btw, much faster and stable than vista), and now I can't play halo custom edition on it :S

just google whether the games you plan on playing are compatible

If a game was compatible with Windows Vista, then it should work with 7. The only area where you may have issues is with 64-bit since most, not all, games are compatible with it. The Phenom II architecture is more advanced and efficient than the Core 2's, plus, the CPU runs at a higher clock speed. Make absolutely sure you have a full, not upgrade, copy of Windows 7 64-bit before you get started building. You can move that copy of Windows from one PC to another so you must first uninstall it from your old PC. You will also most likely need to do a telephone activation to get it working.
