Even though I can play CDs and import songs with iTunes and write to a CD with other software, I cannot burn a disc with iTunes.
There's an error message: "Disc recording not found." And whenever I start the program I get this message: "the registry settings used by the itunes drivers for importing and burning cds and dvds are missing ... please reinstall itunes."
I've uninstalled and installed iTunes and QuickTimes a half-dozen times. I've altered the registry per a help topic on the Apple site. I've updated the GEAR driver. I've updated all the drivers recommended for my PC by Dell. All to no effect.
The Roxio CD Creator also did not recognize the CD (E:/) drive, but a "pxengine" update for that program fixed it.
Bleeping computer.
