 -the first time my room was quiet while the computer was on!!  ) But the 2 other case fans and the P.S. fan were running. I have no idea how long it'd been running this way, but i turned it off cause i didnt want to fry my 2nd cpu. I let it cool down for a few hours and it seemed to work fine, but I had to put the cpu fan connector on a different PS connector for it to work. (The case fans and the cpu fans were on the same connector and the case fans still work fine  ) But when I booted up it said "XP has recovered from a fatal error" but other than that there was nothing else. Also the event log/viewer was clear of errors. All i want to know is why it did this so i can stop it from happening again.

It sounds like the CPU fan seized up. They are fairly cheap and its probably best to get a new one.
