I would'nt know where to start to put the sound card in? Is it hard? Can I do that all by myself? It is fairly low cost but if I bugger this up more, well you see where I'm going with this. What do you think? I'm pretty computer stupid.

It's a piece of cake
All you need is a Phillips screwdriver and 10 minutes
Of course if you have never had the side off, it wouldn't hurt to clean it out
I'll post some pictures and tutorials tomorrow for you to look at

Here's a link to detailed instructions for working in side your computer:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/syst...sm_en/index.htm
Downloadable version in case you want to print something out:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/syst...sm_en/sm_en.exe
Some more pics.

While you have the side off, I recommend that you clean out the computer:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/cleaning-the-inside-of-your-pc/
The tutorial mentions a static strap
I don't use one. Just touch the case to ground out first

O.K. Man, I'm gonna get that sound card, which would you buy? There's a Staples close. I'm very intimidated by all this but I need to try. I won't get the card till Friday so at the soonest it might be Monday for me to start. I'll kepp you posted. Thanks again.

Just make sure it is for a PCI slot
Not a PCI-E slot

I've got a list to take with me to Staples. I'm very nervous about everything but more so with the static thing. I have enough static in my body to kill some things. Therefore I think I should get the anti static strap? I don't want to bugger this up any more than it is.

If it puts your mind to rest, go ahead and get one
They're only a couple of bucks

Do not remove the heatsink from the CPU
You will need to get new thermal compound if you do

Do not be nervous. This is simple and we are here to help
Any more support on this issue should be posted in our Internal Hardware forum
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum7.html
I'll keep an eye out for your post, also
