Asus motherboard need new graphics

I am sortof technologically knowledgeable of what is in my CPU, but not exactly sure how to fix it. My hubby bought me a new flat 19" Dell, but the graphics card/driver will not support the 1366x768 resolution that is suggested. My motherboard has the graphics unit built right on, I noticed after I ordered a new driver from Dell! GRRRR!
How can I update this, or do I have to take it in for professional service?

So you updated the drivers already?
Did you update the drivers for both the Video card and Monitor?
If so and your still not able to view the right resolution, then you might need to buy a new video card...

I feel your pain and frustration on this matter because I have the exact same problem... my video card can't support the same resolution... :thumbsup:

Whether or not you can install a add-on video card depends on what model you Dell is.
If it has a motherboard that has a video card slot you can put a video card in it but will need the proper card for the type of slot it has.

As for the monitor not being set to the recommended settimg, unless there is somethin wrong with the way it looks don't worry about it !

I have a 19> widescreen that also has a recommended setting of 1366x768.
Do to a sight issue I have mine set to 800 x 600 so things are larger & I can see them better
Mine works just fine at the lower setting.

If you post the model for your Dell I will find out if it has a video card slot & tell you what type of card you need.

I have mine set to 1280x768
In vista it looked kinda bad for me but in XP it looks just fine...

Won't use Vist or 7 !

Currently using a Dell S1909 (without drivers) running at 1366 X 768, powered by Intel's GMA 3100 onboard graphics chipset.

Can you tell us the make and model number of the motherboard?
