Help changing a "mini icon" on video files...

Hi everyone! I've been getting new icons for all of my applications, one of these being the VLC Media Player. Here is the new icon I got for it (highlighted)

I want the same image to appear on all my video files, but I have had no luck so far. They stay with the default orange cone.
