BleepingComputer.com: can a sent Power Point attachment be opened by Open Office?

I have xpsp2 and MS Office 2003 and sent a PPS to a friend who does not have Office installed on the computer and so I wondered if Open Office were installed if she would be able to open the PPS?
Or is there a similar program to PPS in Open Office. I know nothing about Open Office and compatability with MS Office.

In answer to your question:

OpenOffice.org is supposed to be compatible with all other major office suites like Microsoft Office (97-2007 formats).

Thx for the reply, my friend told me that the Mac OS OX??? I don't know if that is why there is a problem with her opening my mail that is in Power Point.
Neither of us is that literate in systems and so I would appreciate experienced user replies.

may I suggest that you post your question again in the following forum:

Operating Systems Mac OS.

Hopefully you will get replies from people conversant with the Mac systems and software,
who can also tell you if the above viewer is of any use.

Thx for the advice on where to post as I know absolutely nothing about Mac as my computer needs were more on the word processing and hers are on art and as a result has all the apps for art work but we seem to "incommunicado" when it comes to some of my attachments to emails.
