Preface - formerly married to an IT guy. Learned a lot by osmosis, but I'm only moderately technically proficient. Forgive me if I don't use all the correct terms!
OS - Windows Vista
Problem: I downloaded a trial version of a software called Massage Office Pro. Decided not to buy it, so attempted to uninstall. Seemed to work - I don't see any of the program files for it now. However, now Adobe is tweaking. I have the Adobe CS3 Master Suite (which has Adobe Acrobat 8 with it). My computer apparently thinks there is a problem with Adobe Acrobat 8. Everytime I open Outlook or any MS Office program, a window pops up that says "Please wait while Windows configures Adobe Acrobat 8.1.0." Then it fails, and another box comes up: "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'AcroPro.msi' in the box below."
This is very annoying to say the least. And although I also have Adobe Reader 9 installed, whenver I try to open a PDF, the same process as described above occurs and the doc won't open.
I asked the ex for advice, and got nothing. He just said I'll have to keep cancelling the boxes out whenver they come up because it's too much of a pain to uninstall and re-install the Master Suite.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated!!

Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and look for any AA 8 entries
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
You could also download Codestuff Starter
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/starter.html
If ant AA8 items are listed, you can keep them from starting
Worth a try
