I'm at my wit's end here. I have Windows XP Home edition and after restarting my computer yesterday, all my file extensions have changed to .Lnk . I can't access any of my programs, can't get into restore, can't access anything in the control panel. I use Norton and can't access that, either. I've run the Panda on-line scan and it came up clean. I don't know what's going on. I haven't downloaded anything, just surfed the net, so I don't know what happened. Any ideas how to fix this???
Please?!?!

have you tried booting into safe mode http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...src=sec_doc_nam and accessing system restore that way?
