i tried to open MBAM and recieved the following error message.... an error occurred. please report the following error code to the malwarebytes anti-malware support team. error code:703 (0,7)

as far as runtime error i recieve that constantly when i'm browsing on IE. it doesn't really matter what i'm doing...i could be checking my email, checking bleeping or replying, on facebook, myspace, looking something up...whatever. the computer just stops responding and at the top of the page it says connecting and then i get the error message and the page attempts to restart. i just recieved one...i was TRYING to play bejeweled blitz ( an app on facebook) and the page was loading and it said.....microsoft visual c++ runtime library

i never had a problem playing this app before or with the runtime library error. i honestly believe, whenever i do an windows automatic update, things go crazy!! and ever since updating to IE8, it has been worse! i did go to microsofts page for help, but they're page sucks!! there were a ton of people complaining about the same error, and microsoft says its not them, but every other program in the world! also i have read that the google toolbar in IE8 is causing alot of problem and to delete it.( it was even mentioned on MS page) i went to add/remove programs and deleted it, but it is still on my IE page. i searched for it (because people said it was in a hidden file) but my search came back with nothing. i am half tempted to wipe the whole fricken computer out and try to install everything again! i hate paying for internet services when i can't even use the computer half of the time! i will try to reinstall my AV but i'm not sure it will work! i had bullguard before and had the same problems( no real time, not starting/updating) and i reinstalled that tons of times and did tons of trouble shooting with they're tech support( right before finding you!) and nothing worked! i thought it was just them but its not!

Well, lets concentrate on one issue at a time, beginning with MBAM.

Error code 703 means: Error parsing the database.

Please download the utility from the following link, and it should reinstall the database so that you can update it through Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam/database/mbam-rules.exe

It may also be necessary to reinstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. To do so, please uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware normally, restart your computer, run the utility at the following link, restart your computer again, and then reinstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

Please download a fresh copy from the following link for the reinstall if needed:

Let me know if this solved the problem. If so, update MBAM to its latest definitions and run a quick scan.

Lets focus next on Internet Explorer. If you always have the error message when starting it, do the following.

Can you try to uninstall Internet Explorer 8? This will roll Internet Explorer back to version 6.

After this, try to re-install IE8.

ok sorry for the long delay....i've been trying to update my reinstalled virsion of microsoft security all of this time with no luck! its still saying connection failed and it takes forever!! i did notice once i reinstalled it how much slower my computer was running! the short moment that it was deleted things seemed to be a bit faster?!? i am going to try and uninstall and reinstall IE now....keep your fingers crossed!!

ok i reinstalled IE 8. my AV still didn't start or update *SIGH* now i just recieved that darn microsoft visual c++ runtime error!!! jeeeesh! all that for nothing! well my AV just kicked in and said it was up to date so i'm running a quick scan now. ???????????????????

Yes, please do so and let me know if it found something.

Also, make sure windows is up to date by visiting the Microsoft Update website and installing the latest updates. This often fixes the problem.

If, for some reason you are not able to install all updates, please let me know what didn't work and post any Update error codes.

Okay, so at this point the only problem is with Internet Explorer?

it doesn't normally happen right away but it does happen everytime i'm online. i was reading different sites about the problem last night and one suggested to go to internet options-advanced tab- unclick enable 3rd party browser extensions so far i haven't recieved the error message(knock on wood!) everything else i read said reset IE settings, which i have, and delete google toolbar which i did on my last IE before reinstalling and it was still there! do you think that google search page for some reason is my home page is causing a problem??

No, google really shouldn't cause this problems. Did you disable the third party extensions?

Also, how is your computer running now (apart from this issue)?

i did disable 3rd party and i guess it seems to be running a little better. although i still get the visual c++ error message, just not as often.
