Aim error

Can someone tell me how to fix this current problem im having with aim. I had aim 6, was using it fine for months until last week in the middle of a convo it just stoped working and said An unknown failure occurred. I exited, restarted, same problem. I uninstalled the program and installed aim 7. Still having same issue.
Help Please.
