m. any url, signifies a mobile friendly version of the regular site of the same url. Somewhere along the way you selected the mobile version as the default. I would suggest clearing all browser cache and cookies and restarting your machine and see if that cures your m. issue.

Notice the different renderings http://m.yahoo.com and http://www.yahoo.com/

EDIT: I do notice even when typing the www.yahoo.com url I get it returned with the m. you describe. I haven't been to that site in years so I never noticed it before.

EDIT 2: Here's an even better answer: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qi...22144921AApDi5J
The Internet is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life.

Why is the word abbreviation so long?
