BleepingComputer.com: upgradeing my home network to add wireless capabilities

Hi everyone

I'm looking to upgrade my home network to add wireless capabilities but I don't know a lot about it, I want to make it as future proof as possible.

I need a wireless switch board, either one that can plug into my current switchboard or one that has at leased 4 ports to plug into, and I would it like to be able to have at leased 4 devises connected via wireless connection. I will also need 1 pci now for one of my desktops.
Security isn't much of a issue cause there's no other houses for 100's of meters
will having the computer connected through a wireless connection effect lag much?

So basically atm it will be 1 computer connected with cable, 1 through wireless with pci card, when my sister gets a lap that will be and maby a Nintendo wii,

It would be good if I could use it 20-30 meters away outside the house for laptops

An 802.11n wireless router located in your attic should meet your needs. The router has a 4 port switch built in and because of the multiple antennas and radios inside 802.11n wireless router, the connection will actually improve with distance. Wireless speed will depend on the number of other computers connected via wireless and online at the same time. I use the Dlink DR-615 to fill requirements very similar to yours plus a bit with no issues. Setup and security are simple but require an ethernet Internet connection to configure the router. The price should be on the lower rung of your budget ladder.

I found 2 routers that look ok, what do you think?, I want it to be a good one so I wont have to upgrade for a wile, they both have 4 wired ports but is the netgear one 802.11n Draft 2.0 only, and would that matter?
