Presently I have a Dell laptop (Inspiron 6000) it's about 5 years old and still works brilliantly, I have been trying to access my work network through a Citrix gateway with an RSA key and have been trapped into a loop (I log on key the password, the gateway opens and then loops back to the logon screen).
That's not the problem as it's since been shown to be a faulty key, the concern was one of the helpline people said there could be a problem accessing the gateway using IE8 and I should try to use Firefox. I have tried 4 times to install Firefox and each time when I try to initiate it as my default search engine a crash screen appears saying there is a problem and I should quit firefox, I've tried un-installing the program and downloading again, the same thing keeps happening. Is this a problem that others are having or has my computer gone past it's sell by date?

which firefox version have you tried?
The latest one, according to my brother, crashed and wouldn't start.
Try an older version.
Logon problem
Are cookies enabled to allow the login, otherwise you do get loops as the information is not stored.

Thanks for the reply gully, I turned off all my addons and tried again, that seems to have worked.
