for the past three or four days, my computer has not had internet. when i hook it up to another internet cabel, i still have no internet. i beleave it to be ither the card or the board, both of witch i would hafto replace the board, because the card is built in. is my deduction correct and is my analisis good? help me out here.

Have you tried unplugging your modem/router from the electrical outlet for a few seconds, then plugging them back in?
Go to device manager (control panel, system, hardware tab, device manager) and find your network adapter. Try disabling it, then enabling it. If this fails, Try reinstalling the drivers for your network adapter.
