What kind of graphics card can I put on my computer?

PCIe 2.0

I own an Asus Essentio CM5570-AP002.

I have one PCI Express x16 slot and one PCI Express x1 slot. I know nothing about upgrading video cards.
My power supply: 450 WATT
My ram: 6GB DDR2
My OS: Windows Vista Premium 64-bit. ( Should I upgrade to windows 7? )

I'm willing to spend 100 dollars on the video card at best, I'm not a serious gamer. I'm a light gamer;
I play FPS games like Counter Strike, Combat Arms, Gary's Mod ( Some times. )
I play all my games in 800 x 600 Resolution to maximize FPS.

something along these lines might do you fine http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814102843 though what kind of PSU do you have? that one barely meets the wattage capabilities of this card, in fact of both cards. if its a good quality 450 watt with good amperage on the 12 v rails you should be fine. if its a cheap one, well you might be pushing it a little bit. if you can find that we might be able to give you a bit better of a recomendation.

My PSU was cheap.
I'll just buy a new PSU along with the video card.
I'm willing to spend at least 50 dollars on the PSU, and 100 on the video card.
Also; PCIe 2.0 video cards require a PCIe 2.0 slot, no? I'm not familiar with internal hardware.
All I know is that I have one PCI express x16 slot, and one x1 slot available.

If you're willing to spend $100 on a GPU, you can get a better one such as the GIGABYTE GV-R467ZL-1GI Radeon HD 4670 1GB. The size of your PC case may prevent you from getting a longer graphics card, like the 4770. The next step up from the 4670, that is of a reasonable size, is the XFX HD-575X-ZNFC Radeon HD 5750 though it is above your budget. Regardless of whichever card you choose, you may need a better power supply. A good PSU is the OCZ Fatal1ty OCZ550FTY 550W. It's over your budget, but after you factor in the rebate, it comes in at about $44. PCIe X16 and PCIe X16 2.0 are compatible with each other though the 2.0 does have faster data transfer rates.

It should fit so long as you don't have a slimline case, which you don't. It has a dual slotted cooler so you may end up losing the neighboring PCI slot inside your case, but if you don't have any cards there, it isn't an issue. BTW, I meant to say long cards like the 4870, which is 11 inches. The 4770 is actually not too bad since it comes in at just under 9 inches and is more powerful than the 4670. However, the 4770 is becoming difficult to find at the 1GB levels and is competing against the 5750 at this price point so manufacturers have stopped producing the 4770. For reference, the 5750 is more powerful than either the 4670 or the 4770 and it comes with DirectX 11 and produces less heat.
