Hi, Im new here... And i wanted to ask you guys some things because IDK anything about Hardware, I chose several parts for my $1500 build but I dont really know if the parts are compatible with eachother.. :S

Im using all the money I have for this PC right now, So i really dont want to mess up, My biggest worries is the case, Because I dont know if the parts will fit...
I also dont know if those components are the best i could get for the price, But if they work together its a big relief.

If you're aiming for a mid-range PC, given the CPU I would say that you are, then I suggest an AMD build. Those parts should fit fine, though there are other combinations you should try. You also forgot to include an OS in your build. Below is a suggestion.

Case: Thermaltake Eureka VC8000BWA Black Chassis Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case - When you're dealing with the large GPU's, you need a full ATX case. Also, aluminum cases are often the best with steel coming in second. $109 (Before $15 mail-in rebate)

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-790FXTA-UD5 AM3 AMD 790FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard - This is a new motherboard featuring USB 3.0. This motherboard allows for the latest AMD processors, DDR3 RAM, and Crossfire. This board has better Crossfire capabilities over the one you chose and is for AMD CPU's only. $184

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz - This is AMD's best CPU. Since it is Black Edition, it comes unlocked making overclocking very easy. Compared with the i7 and i5, the Phenom II can hold its own. That is, until you reach i7 950 territory, then Intel wins hands down. For a mid range gaming build, the Phenom II 965 is a worthwhile alternative. $185

GPU: ASUS EAH5870/G/2DIS/1GD5/A Radeon HD 5870 - The best single GPU solution known. Given the design of the motherboard, you can Crossfire two of these things together and get an amazingly powerful graphics card setup. $399

PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W - I believe in planning for the future. This amount of wattage is more than enough to handle another 5870, if you later want one. It is also by a good company too. $139 (Before $20 mail-in rebate)

RAM: CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 - Fast RAM from a good company. You can buy two of these kits and max out on the amount of slots you have on your motherboard. $94

Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black WD7501AALS 750GB - Plenty of space. $79

Optical Drive: LG DVD Burner Black SATA Model GH22NS50 - A simple drive is all you need. $28

Aftermarket Heatsink and Fan: Thermaltake CL-P0456 140mm CPU Cooler - Generally, when it comes to CPU fans, you should get the largest fan you can find. Larger fans move more air and are, usually, quieter. $64

Speakers: Logitech Z523 40 Watts RMS 2.1 Speaker System - I rarely use speakers while gaming. I use headhphones, the AKG K-701. $99

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - You forgot to include the OS in your parts list. You cannot reuse an OEM edition on a new PC due to licensing restrictions. $109

Grand Total: $1,498 (Before Rebates)

I agree with DJ it sounds like its a pretty good build but always leave room for the future i also would go with the corsair memory over the kingston i built a gaming computer with the corsair memory 4gig dominator for a customer and it was extremely fast

Here's an i5 build too. You don't need an i7, the hyper threading is no good for games. Just adding to the price really.

I choose a 5850 instead of the 5870 cause it's the best value for money, I think the 5870 is overpriced.

The i5 is faster than any Phenom and is only beat by the i7. But for gaming it's the same, you probably wouldn't see any difference in performance on games between it and a PII. But an overclocked i5(which overclocks very well) is a force to be reckoned with!

Put in a 1TB Samsung F3 which is one of the fasted HDD's out(could very well be the fastest).

The 650 Watt psu is great, it could handle another 5850 too.

Altec Lansing speakers, they're a very good company for speakers.

You can probably see I put in a very pricey case, truth is that case is awesome... I'm such a sucker for great cases in any build :D If you want you can remove it and put in something else. Example below.



You could reduce the case further to a Coolermaster HAF 932 full tower, but trust me that's a great case and worth the money!

Also has a 5870 in there too.
