BleepingComputer.com: question about wireless modem

Hi i have a modem and a pc but my mom wants to get a wireless modem for her laptop. i heard from a friend that when they use thier wireless phone(its pluged in the wall but its cordless) that thier connection messes up for a second when playing online games. i was wondering can someone tell me about this i dont want to die in my online game because of this my mom will ask the company tommarow if its true but i hear they will not tell the truth. i know most ppl probly wont be effected by this problem because they just look at webpages ect but in my game in one second of lag or something i can lose up to a week worth of work. It all depends on the frequency that the wireless router and phone operate on.
I believe that most wireless routers work on 2.4GHz. So try to find a cordless telephone that is a different frequency (such as 5.xGHz)
