Hi community,

I installed Vista yesterday, everything was fine.
But, when I boot the PC with XP it always says a network cable isn't connected.
The on Board LAN card doesn't work anymore.
When I switch to Vista it works. Really crazy.

I tried many things to solve the problem, like uninstalling the driver or siwthing the card off in the BIOS... nothings helps.

I know use WLAN to connect to my router, works ok, but I want to use the on board LAN again.

Anybody got ideas?

HELP ;)
Alex

Hey Alex,

I have the exact same problem. Did you fix it? If so how? This is driving me nuts....

Thx
Kathlik.

Fixed it. For those who may suffer the same fate, do as follows:

1. Pull the power plug from your PC for a good 30 seconds. It seemed to reset the onboard LAN and give me two LED's back on the LAN input.
2. Go to your router. I found my internet connection had been disconnected. Vista does something to the router, as it kills my internet connection after every time I use it.

Hope this helps someone...

yeah i did that from time wheni installed vista but also
i have a problem that vista don't even have internet connection
the configuration of the ip's and the the internet protocols is not complete as it is beta
i think this version of vista even 1 or 2 have alot of bugs and alot of shorts and missing services
this is what i see and this is what i searched for like for example when i tried to install netbios servie to let the network , it didn't work and i put the windows xp cd instead of vista dvd, then i installed the service and also it didn't work .
i hope that was informative to you

The Microsoft Connect site has a download for Legacy drivers (and they're all network adapters). So, I'd presume that there are issues with the network adapters in Vista.
