Help
I had a rootkit infection in which I believe m0le and I resolved in this thread, >here< on the Malware removal forum. Anyways, my computer seems to be running fine except for the fact that my updates will not update, when I try to run windows update it gives me Code 8024001B, also when it does give me the option to install new updates and I click install, the window immediately shuts down.

Take a look at the following MS KB Articles. You cannot turn on an optional feature, install a Windows update, install a hotfix, or install a language pack on a Windows Vista-based computer Many references point to this XP based KB Article that works for Vista as well. You cannot install updates after you install or repair Windows XP
