BleepingComputer.com: OpenSUSE Bootable USb

I want to make a bootable USB so that it wont be on the computer itself. Is it even possible to have it to where is isn't even on the computer? The real question is what exactly do I need to do? I'm an idiot, so the OpenSUSE site wont help..... Step by step would be nice

The basic rundown of the page is:

1) Download the latest OpenSUSE Live CD Release from here -> http://software.opensuse.org/112/en ( You can choose either the KDE or Gnome version of OpenSUSE)

2)Download a Disc Image writing utility such as Win32 Disc Imager http://launchpad.net/win32-image-writer/0....2-r23-win32.zip

3) Unpack Win32 Disc Imager(Right Click-> Extract All)

4) insert You Flash Drive and see what the drive letter is in "My Computer"

5) Run the .exe file you just unpacked (Win32Discimager.exe)

6)Once it opens Click the Blue Folder in the "Image File" section and find the OpenSUSE release you just downloaded (it should be an .iso file, the program is only set to see .img files but typing "*.iso" in the "File Name" box, without quotation marks)

7)In the Devices Box change the Drive letter to the drive letter of your Flash drive

8)Click "Write" and it should write the Bootable image to your Flash Drive.

What do I do afterwards? Will it be installed on the computer? Will there be a partition?

It will not be install to the Harddrive of your PC, it will be installed to your Flash Drive. You'll need to reboot your PC and set the BIOS to boot for USB before booting from the Harddrive. This last part varies PC to PC, usually pressing F2 at startup (while the system is running its checks) will bring up the the BIOS then find the "Boot order" and edit accordingly

Good how-to. I have never used Win32 Disc Imager.
I have always used unetbootin: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
Start unetbootin, select distro (or .iso image) select the drive, install.
It has a lot of other options, but i've never needed them.
