BleepingComputer.com: HEEEELLLP!!! my pc just keeps restarting!

To any 1 out there....
i am a noob when it comes to computers, and right now, my pc is acting up, and i dont know what to do. everytime i turn it on, it restarts. the only way i can get on is on safe mode. i tried scanning it, system restore, idk. im running out of ideas, can some 1 help?

Have you tried running chkdsk?

i dont think so.... how do i go about it? i can only use safe mode with networking. by the way, thanx for the quick reply!

Right click on the C drive in Explorer and go Properties > Tools > Check Now (under Error Checking). Check both boxes then click "Start Now". A message will pop up saying that Error Checking will run after you restart the computer. Restart the computer and Error Checking will run automatically after the restart. After it’s finished it will restart into Windows automatically.

thanx for the advice, but that didnt work either. i even tried it twice. im thinking it might be my drives or somthing.... thanx anyway.... i'm open to any other suggestions......

You can Disable Automatic Restarts When Windows Crashes - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic74644.html . Pershaps that will result in an error message.

While in safe mode, you can also take a look in Event Viewer for errors which might provide clues as to why your system is rebooting.

thanx 4 the tip. i've already tried to disable automatic start up, and the only error message i got was that there might be something wrong (duh),but im going to check the event viewer.

as for make and model, its older than god. i probably need an upgrade i cant afford right now. i have a kds amd sempron 2800+, 1.99ghz, 2gb ram.

i know. i need a real computer.
but for the moment, this is all i have.

I would try reinstalling your video driver in Safe Mode.

if my video driver was the problem, wont i bot be able to see anything?
still, its another option. btw, i tried the event viewer, and im not going to put everything since it stretches all the way till today:

thats pretty close. on the ftdisk, it says: the system could not successfully load the crash dump driver.

i also got a warning message on tcpip:tcp/ip has reached the security limit imposed on the number concurrent tcp connect attempts.

this all sux, since i cant even hear anything. is it normal not to be able to hear anything in safe mode? i can only hear something when i log into it on normal start up,and thats only for a few seconds since it restarts.....

I also want to say thanks to everyone who has taken their time to read my posts. I'd have to say that I learned a lot more about my pc in just this one day. I know there's much more, but still, thanks anyway.
