I was typing an essay in microsoft word. The essay was saved on my flashdrive, however I got a message saying the file is corrupt and it cannot be opened. What should I do?

Try running the chkdsk /r command on the flash drive.

With the drive attached to the system...go to My Computer.

Right-click on the drive, select Properties.

See instructions for running chkdsk from Graphical Interface at http://www.updatexp.com/windows-xp-chkdsk.html.

After this completes, see if you can open the file.
