Hello,
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but the more I look around, the more confused I am.
I presently have two systems. Both run XP Pro with 32-bit OS. One is an Intel and the other is an AMD 64 3800+.
When I updated windows the Intel downloaded KB973688, while the AMD downloaded KB973687.
These two updated are basically the same except that one is for 32-bit(973688) and the other is for a 64-bit OS(973687).
Shouldn’t both 32-bit OS have downloaded the KB973688 (32-bit) update?
Thank you.

Someone else found the answer for me.
It seems there is a 32 and 64 bit update with this number (kb973687). In all of my searching I did not see the 32-bit update.
Sorry I troubled the forum before seeing this.
Guess I am going to have to work on my search techniques.
Thank you.
