i have just completed a system restore, where everything that was on the cpu was put into a backup file called:

C:\My Backup -- 09-11-28 0249PM

but when i try to open 2 out of the 6 folders i needed files from:

C:\My Backup -- 09-11-28 0249PM\Documents and Settings\owner.Tom
C:\My Backup -- 09-11-28 0249PM\Documents and Settings\owner~Tom

i get the message :

Quote

"C:\My Backup -- 09-11-28 0249PM\Documents and Settings\owner.Tom is not accessible.

access is denied"

or

Quote

"C:\My Backup -- 09-11-28 0249PM\Documents and Settings\owner~Tom is not accessible.

access is denied"

how would i go about regaining access.

(and i dont know if it matters but the list of users (according to the folder) are "administrator", "all users", "Freinds", "owner", "owner.Tom", and "owner~Tom")

thanks in advance

------Tom, XP user

This is the normal way Docs & Settings works, I think...try How to take ownership of a file or folder in Windows XP - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421
