I need your help...

I'm going now, to install Windows XP on my new computer, that has Ubuntu 9.04 assigned as a main OS (with purchase).

I have one question right now. Should I run a quick formatting of an HDD, or a full one? The HDD is 500 GB. Which one is better, and will it take for a too long, if I'll choose a full formatting?

If I'll encounter any problems, I'll be posting back again... or, if everything will go just fine, I'll let you know about it.

Please, if such is possible, stay online to assist me further on.

Thanks in advance,

Obviously, full format will take more time compared to quick format which is just a few seconds matter. How much time it will take depends on the hardware itself, but I think it should take around 10 minutes for 500 GB full format.

I suggest you to have a look at this Windows XP setup walkthrough : http://www.theeldergeek.com/xp_pro_install_-_graphic.htm

Also its a nice idea to download at least networking adaptor drivers for your motherboard model and keep them in a portable disk like USB pendrive. This would be useful in case, you finish installing Windows XP only to find you cannot connect to internet because the ethernet drivers are missing.
