I just did a full reinstall of Windows and AVG annoys me anymore but I have been with them so long I really don't know who to go to now. I run adblock plus/noscript on Firefox and my AVG never really picked up anything anyways but just scan every once in a while, I just want to know if there was a new king of free.

Avira Antivir Personal Free, which I use and is one of the Best.

Why not try an all in one security suite like Comodo CIS the free download is on the left hand side. http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/ The other is an offer for 24/7 support which is not neccessary as they have a very helpful forum, https://forums.comodo.com/comodo_internet_s...ity_cis-b125.0/ Read the reviews below for confirmation. The latest version is the best one yet.

Hello jon51,
Another one to consider is Microsoft Security Essentials. Works great, free and is very user friendly.
