When I try to print an e-mail in Windows Mail, I get an error message "Communication Not Available. The printer cannot communicate with the computer. Try these solutions: check plugs, etc" all of which I've done. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the printer software.
I can print from Internet Explorer and websites.
I have a Dell Inspiron 530 computer, Windows Vista Home Premium, updated, Dell printer 948. The connection is a usb cable.
Any suggestions would sure be appreciated. This is making me nuts.

Even though you have reinstalled the printer software again just double check whather the drivers have installed properly and make sure they're updated, open control panel>system maintenance>device manager>update device drivers ! Also check this link it may help you http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#12

I sure appreciate the suggestions...unfortunately they didn't work. I think the only possibility is to re-install the whole operating system.
