Hello again.
No, I don't need the 6-9 converter; I removed Works 7 the minute I got the computer
6 years ago, preferring to use Office (2002 version) and subsequently Office 2003 Professional.
When attempting to open Word docs created by the later Word program (2007), emailed to me,
I was given the option to install various converters, which were downloaded and integrated.
I believe that your main program executable (something like msworks.exe)
just picks up on the 'modules' contained in and operated by various .dll files.
Windows\System32 is an obvious location, but then there are all the folders of the
word processing program, plus common files, shared files etc.
Works632_en-US.msi 6-9 converter package:
These are the .dlls in the 6-9 package. You'd have to search for their locations.

Bear in mind that we don't know what else the Windows installer does, but there's no
executable as such, as far as I can establish.
I would rely on Add / Remove to take out the converter program.
Some of these .dlls may be copies of files already on your computer and needed for other programs.
Removing / deleting any files, other than through Add / Remove, may just create problems.
There's generally a warning about removing shared files and I always leave them in, just in case.

btw, have you seen this, recommended by garmanma:
Free link scanner
http://linkscanner.explabs.com/linkscanner/default.aspx
For those occasions when your own link scanner is a pain in the butt.
Sorry about the list - it was in perfect columns in the file and the posting box.
It's .dll, file version and size as per usual.
Pete.
