BleepingComputer.com: wireless adapter keeps failing?!

hi all,

my new win7 pc doesnt like my existing wifi adapter adapter was from my old xp pc and it install first time ok on new
pc - but now win7 often says it has failed - even though i can see that the router is still connected to the adapter ok

is it time for a new wifi adapter? or new driver ?

adapter is called a bluenext

there is a connection light on router that is green when device is connected - goes red if nothing connected

Might you possibly have the model number from the "bluenext" device?

Also, is it possible to get the "hardware id" from the bluenext device?

Your Bluenext USB Wireless device is based on a Ralink Chip.

Bluenext has not updated their drivers to the newest version provided by Ralink.

Your drivers should be in either this file ( USB (RT2870 /RT2770 /RT307X /RT2070 /RT3572) ) or this file ( USB (RT257x /RT2671 /RT520x) ) on the Ralink Website which is located here.

I have been trying to open the Installshield cab files but unfortunately, I'm not having any luck.

I would uninstall any drivers/utilities for your BlueNext device and try one or the other of these drivers for your USB Wireless Device. If one does not work, uninstall it before trying the other.

I'm sorry that this is kind of vague but as I stated, their cab files are quite hard to get into to read the inf file information to point you to the correct driver package the first time.

Off the top of my head, I don't remember.

I think there is, but not exactly sure how to tell you to find it. When I do I'll post it for you.

I have finally gotten into the Installshield files and found your needed drivers for your BlueNext Wireless USB Device.

Your drivers are located in this file ( USB (RT257x /RT2671 /RT520x) ) on the Ralink Website which is located here.

Just wanted to make sure you have the correct information.
