Adobe reader keeps putting a reminder on my screen to update its software. It does it every few hours. I don't want to update it. If every program that had an update available. did this, it would drive me mad. Is their any way to stop this annoyance?

Thanks

For Adobe Reader go Edit > Preferences > Updater and select "Do not automatically download or install updates".

I don't have an Updater function on my preferences page.

What version? - just checked my Adobe 9; Updater option is at the bottom of the list on the left.

Do you need to upgrade?

You could have Adobe entries in msconfig / startup.

It may simply be a matter of unchecking these.
