I have a customer with a very old HP Laserjet 4 printer. They want to use in on their Windows 7 machine. Windows update installs the driver, it shows up in the conrol panel, but when I try to print, it gives me an unspecified error. The built in troubleshooter doesn't have any answers for me. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. THANKS!!!

Try uninstalling the printer - Reboot - reinstall.

If the above suggestion doesn't work then try manually downloading the driver from HP. If they don't have a Windows 7 driver, try downloading a Vista driver.
