My desktop wallpaper has changed to a warning that my system has been affected. A red ball with an X is in the desktop toolbar, every so often telling me that my computer is infected. And every 10-15minutes or so I get a pop up basically telling me the same thing that my computer has a 'TrojanSPM/LX" and that if I don't download IDS software it will infect my executuble files. And some of my executuble files have been affected, such as my task manager which I cannot access at all, and I can't change the desktop background that seems to be locked as well. My internet and stuff like that works fine though.
So I'm freaking out because I seem to have downloaded everything possible to try to fix this.
And there has been no luck.
I have Windows XP Home Edition, the computer is only 5 years old or so, but I'd say has gone through a lot of other virus' and multiple family uses, so it isn't exceptionally fast. Please bear with me though, I'm only 17 and not extremely experienced with the process of getting rid of stuff when it goes further than just simply doing a scan and deleting the virus.
Help is appreciated, thanks
