Hi there, the problem is that i can't seem to play COD:MW2 on my pc. I installed it today and accidentally clicked to install the directx that came with it aswell. However i had to use a workaround on COD4 to get it working because a similar problem with directx. Now when i try to play COD:MW2 i get the error:

----- Client Initialization Complete -----
Attempting 44 kHz 16 bit [Windows default] sound
----- R_Init -----
Getting Direct3D 9 interface...
Pixel shader version is 2.0
Vertex shader version is 2.0
Video card or driver doesn't support vertex shader 3.0 or better.

Error during initialization:
Video card or driver doesn't support vertex shader 3.0 or better.

Before i bought the game i checked if my pc could handle the game on:

Can You Run IT?

and it said i could.

Anyway i cant remember the workaround i used to get it working before so help is needed to get me playing the biggest game on 2009. I also ran GPU-Z a screenshot is provided below:

Any help is much appreciated.

BTW I'm running it on Windows XP

I'm not really sure about a workaround for it, but that graphics card doesn't seem powerful enough to run the game, even if you did get it to open.

If you want to upgrade it, we will gladly give you a hand!

What new graphics card would you suggest then? I'm not really that much of a pc gamer except for COD and FM so i'm looking to spend around £50-£75 maybe more. Any help would be much appreciated.

1.Hi thebestrc,
I have the same problem for playing the Call of Duty 5. The graphics is not supported. The sound can be heard but the is no display on the screen.

Though I am not an expert regarding which graphics card to purchase but still I searched many on the net and I found one which is in your budget.
“VisionTek X1050 series” is of 256Mb graphics supported card.
Still before buying any hardware I recommend to consult your vendor for supporting Motherboard hardware.

We need to know what motherboard slots the mother board has.

Slowest : PCI
2nd fastest: AGP
Fastest:Pci express

If you don't know give us your motherboard model.

oh and btw, just another question will it run on a dual core 2.6ghz? cause i dont know the diff. of a dual core to the pentium 4. and btw which is must faster the dual core or 2.6ghz of the pentium 4 3.2ghz.?

@reinmar:

a dual core 2.6GHz is effectively a single core 5.2GHz, with a little slowness when switching between cores, but yes, it will run as long as your GPU can handle it.
If I'm posting, I probably have something horribly wrong with my computer, there's no obvious explanation for it, that's just the way it is.

Wikipedia said:

Support DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0, OpenGL 3.2, and PCI-Express 2.0.

Yes, you should be able to run it reinmar.

And from first hand experience, the fact that I can run it on a 7 series, and you have a 9 series suggests you can run it quite well.
