Banana Bread
The ingredients: 1/2 cup of margarine - 1/2 tsp of salt - 1cup sugar - 1 tsp baking soda - 2 eggs - 2 ripe bananas, mashed - 2 cups of plain flour 1/4 cup of nuts chopped Cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs. Add the flour, salt, soda, and mashed bananas. Mix well and then pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes. Enjoy! Spring ~ Peach ~ Pear ~ Dream Pie
1 Package (8 oz.) creme cheese 1/4 cup peach or apricot preserves 1 1/4 cups frozen whipped topping (thawed) 1 (9 in.) graham cracker crust 1 can (15 1/4oz) sliced yellow peaches (drained) 1 can (15 1/4 oz) sliced pears (drained) 1. Mix together creme cheese and preserves 2. Fold in whipped topping, spoon into pie crust 3. Arrange fruit attractively on top Chill at least two hours or overnight. Garnish with mint sprigs and additional whipped topping, if desired. Prep time: 10 min. Chill time: 2 hrs. or overnight. 8 servings To make this a healthy dessert. This can be done with lowfat graham crust, low fat/lite whipped topping, fruit in its own juice, & low sugar/sugar free preserves. Coconut Cream Pie _ Oh Baby!
1 can large cream - 3/4 cup of water - 3 cups of sugar (for every 1 cup mix in 4 tbsp flour) - dash of salt - 1 stick melted margarine - 2 tsp vanilla - 7oz pkg of coconut - 4 eggs - 2 deep unbaked pie crusts. Blend cream, sugar, flour, melted margarine, eggs, water, salt, and vanilla. Then mix together with the coconut. Fill the unbaked pie crusts and bake 1 hour at 350. Chocolate Irish Whiskey Cookies
1 stick butter (softened) 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons Irish whiskey 1/4 cup heavy cream 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips 1/4 cup flour 1/4 teaspoon each baking soda and salt 1 cup quick oats 1/2 cup toasted pecans, coarsely chopped Preheat oven to 350*F. Liberally grease and flour cookie sheets. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in 1 tablespoon of the whiskey. Heat cream to boiling in small pan. Reduce heat and stir in remaining whiskey. Let simmer 3 minutes Remove from heat, and stir in chocolate chips until blended and melted. Add half to butter-sugar mixture. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Stir into butter mixture. Fold in quick oats and pecans. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on baking sheets. Bake 8 minutes. When cookies are cool drizzle remaining chocolate-whiskey mixture in crisscross lines across tops of cookies. Makes about 24. Kat also posted a bunch of great recipes here. Caws-Wedi-Pobi (Welsh Rarebit)
Probably the most well-known of all Welsh snacks although if you were to look it up in Fowler's English usage you would see that it claims that the dish is not of Welsh origin, there is no rabbit in it and the toast is not rare. Full marks to Fowler's for splitting hairs, or is it hares? Ingredients: · half a pound of cheese, grated · 1 tsp. dry mustard · 4 tbsp. milk · 4 slices of fairly thickly sliced bread · 1 tsp. butter · 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce · salt and pepper to taste · 2 tsp. flour · 2 tbsp beer (optional) · tomato wedges and parsley, to garnish (optional) Cooking Instructions: 1. After or while toasting the bread, heat the grated cheese gently in a saucepan until it melts 2. Stir in the other ingredients 3. A little beer can be added to the sauce if desired 4. Pour the cheese sauce over the toast and place under a grill until a golden brown 5. Garnish with tomato wedges and parsley |

How about some pasta?? OK. 1 can 11oz Campbell's Nacho Cheeze 1 can 11oz Campbell's Cream of mushroom 1 can 11oz Campbell's Cream of celery 1 bunch green onions (shallot) 1 8oz fresh mushrooms 1 cup of diced yellow onions 1/2 pint Heavy Whipping cream spices of your choice 1lb peeled medium shrimp (20-24 ct.) 1lb Crawfish peeled tails 8oz crab meat 1 Salmon steak per person Angel hair pasta or wild brown rice Sautre onions, green onions, and fresh mushrooms till wilted and tender. Add cheeze, cream of mushrrom, cream of celery, and heavy whipping cream and stir together till smooth. Add spices of choice. Place a little oil (olive) in a skillet and heat till smoke just starts showing. Place seasoned salmon steaks face down in very hot skillet for 3 to 4 minutes , reducing the heat to keep from burning ,keeping the salmon moving in the skillet. Turn over and finish cooking to taste. Once sauce has been cooking till smooth add shrimp, crawfish, and crab meat cooking for about 7 to 10 minutes or till shrimp are pink. As the cook you can sample When salmon and sauce are done, place the salmon on a large plate with pasta or rice next to it. Ladle sauce over salmon and pasta or rice. serve with bread of choice (I like the Texas Toast). This should take 45 mins. to fix, if the ingredent are ready to use. I have more. But you will have to wait. A tip thought. Instead cooking your turkey at 425° , reduce it to 300°. 10lbs @ 300° for 5 hours. I only use 3 cups of orange juice in a covered pan for 4 hours then uncovered for 1 hour. The white meat will be as moist as the dark. You can't burn it either. I left one on for 7 hour so I could go to mass. It just got better.

Pork Loin with Sherry and Red Onions Ingredients: 3 large red onions, thinly sliced 1 cup pearl onions, blanched and peeled 2 Tbs unsalted butter or margarine 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 2 1/2 lb boneless pork loin, tied 1/2 cup cooking sherry 2 Tbs Italian parsley, chopped 1 1/2 Tbs cornstarch 2 Tbs water Directions: In a medium skillet, saute the red onions and pearl onions in the butter until soft. Season with salt and pepper. Rub the pork loin with salt and pepper and place in the slow cooker. Add the sauteed onions, sherry and parsley. Cover; cook on Low 8 to 10 hours or on High for 5 to 6 hours. Remove the pork loin from the stoneware and let stand 15 minutes before slicing. Combine the cornstarch and water and add to the juice in the stoneware to thicken the sauce. Serve the pork loin with the onions and sherry sauce. This recipe is from www.crock-pot.com ©2005. Monkey Bread
Ingredients: *2- 7 1/2 oz. Tubes of refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (about) *1/2 Cup sugar, granulated *1 tsp. cinnamon *1/2 Cup Brown sugar *1/4 Cup + 2 tb. butter or margarine Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 F. 2. Cut each biscuit into quarters. 3. Combine the granulated sugar and the cinnamon together in a small bowl. 4. Dip the biscuit pieces into a well greased tube pan. 5. Melt the brown sugar and the butter or margarine; do not boil. Pour over the biscuit pieces in the tube pan. 6. Bake in a preheated 350 F oven for 25 - 30 min. Do not let them burn. 7.
