Casseroles are my favorite sooo here's a chicken and pasta bake...
1 can cream of chicken 1 can cream of mushroom - now use one of those empty cans and fill with milk :] 8oz (i think) of sour cream mix all of that stuff together. then cube chicken and cook that in a pan and while you're doing that boil an entire package of wide egg noodles. When all of that cooking is done, pour everything into a 9x13 pan. So I typically do the noodles and chicken and then the sauce and mix everything together. If I'm feeling healthy I'll get one of those steamer bags (the kind that you can just toss in the microwave) of broccoli and add that to it. I pop that into a 400 degree oven for like...15 minutes. Then I make Stove Top Stuffing! I use the chicken flavor. I pull the pan out of the oven, put the stuffing over the casserole like a crust and put it back in for another...oh, 15 minutes probably. And tada! A yummy casserole that should last an entire work week when you don't have time to cook :] unless you live with two guys that eat it all in one day |

Well, some real yummie recepies I have seen here. Since I listed cooking as a hobby somewhere here on the site, lets add one for pizza (I looked (fast) and have seen none). I am NOT familiar with American measures, so I hope it will be clear. I make pizza from scratch (can be made also with mix from shop). Maybe seems complicate, but it really isn't. Sorry for spelling/grammar errors.
Ingredients for one oven plate of pizza 500 g. flour 250 ml. water 2 spoons oil 1 teaspoon salt 25 g. yeast (fresh) I prefer to make the dough in my bread-make-machine (I have no idea how this is called), using the dough-make program. But you can make it easy yourself. Put the flour in something big enough. Put the water, oil, yeast in the middle of the flour and mix with your hands/mixer. Add the salt a bit later, otherwise you may kill the yeast. Knead the dough until its one ball of smooth dough. Put the dough somewhere warm to rise for 1-2 hours. In the mean time you can prepare the pizza-sauce. You need... 1 can of chopped tomatoes (400 g.) 2 spoons of tomato-pure 1 onion, chopped 3 spoons oil some garlic, chopped fine Heat the oil in a frying pan, add onions, let it fry until it becomes glassy-looking, add garlic and almost imediat the can with chopped tomatoes. Stir a bit and add the tomato-pure. Let it cook until all water is gone (important!) and the sauce has thicked... Ready. Now you can prepare what else you like on a pizza. My favourite is as follows. Rasped cheese, red paprika, canned tuna-fish, black olives. Roll out the risen dough on a surface with flour. Put it on an oiled oven-plate. Put the prepared tomato-sauce on it and spread it over the whole pizza. Leave 1 cm. at the margins. Put tuna-fish, olives and chopped paprika on the sauce and the rasped cheese at last. Put the plate in a pre-heated oven (225-240 degrees celcius) in a LOW position for 20 minutes. Enjoy! This post has been edited by elise025: Apr 10 2009, 01:16 PM -------------------- |

Pandy,
I saw on the favorites game thread of 2004, that you like spicy ginger cookies. I have a recipe for some that are spicier than any that you can buy in a store. The trickiest part is rolling out the dough. Otherwise, it's simple, you don't even need to bother with any measuring cups, since entire packages of ingredients are used. It is differant from any other cookie recipe I have ever seen, because the dough is rolled out warm, instead of chilled. I have found that these cookies are best when rolled rather on the thin side. Between batches, I keep the remaining dough warm by setting the mixing bowl over a pan of hot water on low heat. Makes lots of small cookies about 1 to 2 inches square. PARLIES 1 (two pound) box, Cake Flour {aprox. 8 cups} 1 (one pound) box, Brown Sugar ¼ pound, ground Ginger {Buy ground Ginger in bulk at a health-food store for best quality and price.} 1 pound, unsalted Butter, melted 1 (twelve ounce) jar, Molasses {aprox. 1½ cups} {Save jar. Remove lable, wash and fill with hot tap water, use to roll out dough; or else use warmed metal rolling pin.} Line cookie sheets, or jelly roll pans, with Parchment Paper and preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit (a slow oven). Dump the entire box of cake flour, the entire box of brown sugar, and the ginger into a large heat-proof bowl; thoroughly mix the dry ingredients. Add molasses to melted butter; bring to a boil, and pour it on the flour mixture. Work up the dough as hot as your hands will bear it, and, on the prepared cookie sheets, roll it out (in batches), a sixth of an inch or less thick; using a heated rolling pin. Cut it in small squares with a knife, pastry-wheel, or pizza-cutter, and bake for about 30 to 40 minutes. Separate the squares when soft and they will soon get crisp. Cool on rack, then store in airtight containers. I adapted this recipe from one found on page 192 of: THE SCOTS KITCHEN by Florence Marion McNeill, published by Blackie & Son Limited, London and Glasgow, printed in 1932. These cookies are very good, very gingery. Better than any store bought ginger snaps. -------------------- Laffnmule's Lode
