Combofix will not uninstall after using "combofix /u"

Combofix won't uninstall after using the "run" then typing "Combofix /u"
Instead it starts running another scan.

Is there some new way to uninstall combofix?
It's not working as described on bleepingcomputer's combofix uninstall procedure

First try it with a upper case F .... ComboFix /u .. Notice the space between the "x" and "/".

•When shown the disclaimer, Select "2"


OR
Please download OTCleanIt.exe and save to your Desktop.
  • Connect to the Internet and double-click on the file to launch the program.
  • Click on the green CleanUp! button.
  • If you get a warning from your firewall or other security programs regarding OTCleanIt attempting to contact the Internet, please allow the connection.
  • When it has finished, OTCleanIt will ask you to reboot so it can remove itself.
-- Note: Doing this will remove any specialized tools (including this one) downloaded and used. All other programs should be kept on your machine and used on a regular basis.

Yes I did try that as Combofix /u and combofix /u, but it just starts the scanning process again.

I have used combofix about 3 times so far, and the uninstall always worked except this time.

It might be because the program crashed (while killing a Global.exe virus) while scanning with combofix.
Pop up alerts, and a banner bouncing around the screen saying "Your computer is under attack".
started happening. The screen was a black background too. Strange stuff.

So I restarted using the reset button, as nothing would work on the pc hotkeys to restart or use process manager.
Then I had to boot to another drive and dl'ed and used AVG, which killed it. Then boot back to the infected drive, and ran combofix again. This time the scan went smoothly, and when I went to uninstall, it didn't work.

I'll try that software you recommended then.

I can't get to that page to dl this oldtimer OTCleanit software.
I think I'm blocked from that download page.
I can't even get to the main download page of bleepingcomputer.
Maybe because I'm in China, they have a block of many sites.
Anywhere else I can get that program from?

I notice that you did not follow boopme's suggestion of using the upper case F in the uninstall. Only upper case C.

Try this:

Go to Posted Image > Run... and type in the run dialog box: ComboFix /Uninstall
