We bought our computer brand new. It worked fine for a year and then all of the sudden it started doing the exact same thing that you are explaining. I am very interested in finding a solution. The funniest part is that it happened right after our one year warranty. We called HP and they wouldn't tell us anything until we paid $50. I said forget it and hung up. not to mention that the people we spoke to were from a call center half way around the world.
