I have Sony Vaio laptop which came with Windows Visa. Almost immediately, I installed Windows 7.

I would like to be able to close the Lid without the system going to sleep or hibernate (so I can continue to work using a second screen).

I go into Power Options - System Settings and have the option of what to do when I close the lid. Though I select "Do Nothing" for both On Battery and Plugged In, the Laptop still seems to sleep (at least the screen goes blank, as does the second screen I want to work on) when I close the lid - as if this function is not working.

Could you advise whetehr I am missing something.

Thanks

Lucyger
