'Raspe_lmksls' what is this service?

I found this service 'Raspe_lmksls' listed but it has no description and google doesn't come up with anything on this service. 'Raspe_lmksls' is disabled but has a password and Profile listed on the Logon tab. Anyone know what this is?

I'm not sure. I found it listed in services under Administrative tools. I'm running xp pro 64.

Double-click on the service and tell me what it the path to the executable is.

The path is empty and there are no dependencies.

Some background might help. In the 'Am I Infected' forum. I had a thread, being infected with Advanced Virus remover, I believe I was able to clear it out. But since then I noticed I was not able to get into Safe Mode at all. It loads the drivers but when it gets to 'ACPITABLE.DAT', it reboots. So I started looking for something in services and my MSCONFIG and thats how I came across this service.

As there are no google hits for this service, I have to assume its not legit.

Delete it using the SC command prompt command sc delete Raspe_lmksls or autoruns.

I googled it and apparently its not a 'nasty'. Also what can be done about my SAFE MODE problem?

Safer than msconfig is autoruns as grinler suggestrd

I will give the Autoruns a try. But what can I do about the safe mode problem? Should I post elsewhere in the forum?

For safe mode, you can try:

Please download SafeBootKeyRepair.exe by sUBs to repair Safe Mode.

SafeBootKeyRepair

To run SafeBootKeyRepair.exe:
1. Close all programs/windows so that you have nothing open and are at your Desktop.
2. Double-click the SafeBootKeyRepair.exe file.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
3. Post the entire contents of C:\SafeBoot_Repair.txt in your next reply.

I ran the program and no go. It produced error

Unsupported Version
Error! Unsupported OS or version mismtch

probably because I'm running XP sp2 x64

I did make some progress. Did some googling about the problem. Found that possibly files in the \Windows\system32\config\ folder could be corrupt. So I backed up my entire Documents and Setting folder first to another drive. I backed up SYSTEM, SECURITY, SAM, DEFAULT AND SOFTWARE. Then copied from WINDOWS\REPAIR to WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG these 5 files. Rebooted and it went into SAFE MODE. When I boot normally to windows, my profile is gone. Copying back my backed up version of these files to WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG, everything was back to the way it was but no SAFE MODE boot again. So one of these files is corrupt.
