I'm running Windows 7 home premium on my laptop. The previous laptop was running XP Pro with all service packs. The power unit on it failed and so I have put the SATA disk in a disk enclosure to transfer to the new machine. However, I need to take ownership of the old files, many of which are not visible to me. How do I do this?

See if maybe THIS does`t help.

In particular under the heading "To take ownership of a file or a folder".
