This is for hamluis, in any number of your posts about hard drives you have said you would not use SATA hard drives. Why is that?

Show me a link for such...and I'll believe it
.
I've been using SATA drives on my two computers for some time. The only reason I use my PATA drives is that they are good for storage and are problem-free.
I know that I've said that I don't use SATA drives for boot drives, I use the slower PATA drives for those because they are smaller in capacity. I see no point in installing XP on a 500GB partition...or even 250GB partition...as so many do.
I also tend to think the more drives used for storage, the less risk of catastrophic loss due to drive/disk failure.

Hamluis,
Sorry about that misread the words in a post to orangechicken505,
FWIW: The hard drive you mention, Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 250GB ATA/133 HDD, is not a SATA drive, would not use SATA drivers.
Didn't pay attention to the whole word at the end "drivers not drive".
My mistake I'm going to have to start reading things twice from now on.
