Hello hello I have just a minor issue:

My Dell Laptop charger doesn't charge my computer. There is a problem with the charger. not the computer, because the light on the charger doesn't turn on when plugged in. This is been occurring for the past month. What I have been doing is waiting a while (a couple minutes) and trying to plug it back into the wall, and then it will work fine. Sometimes I have to wait a couple minutes, and sometimes even 10-15 minutes before is stops acting up.

My question is, why would it be doing this? I'm good with computers, so I'm putting my $$ on an internal issue.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1300 that will be 4 years old this Christmas, as will the charger. I have tried plugging it into different wall sockets, but with no avail...

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Alex

Have you felt the charger? Does it get warm or hot to the touch?

No it is not a heat/overheating related problem. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Just to be sure we are talking about the same thing. I am talking about the power converter not the lap top.

Either way that sounds like that is what is going bad.

Correct. Thank you. Any suggestions? Or is it just about time for a new charger/computer.

No need for a new machine. Unless you really want one. The chargers can be purchased separately.
