Hi, just got a weird thing to occur with my MPC. I have some .avi files that played perfect. I downloaded a couple more .avi files and suddenly Media Player Classic will not play them. I get a "Can Not Render File" message when I try.

VLC will not play them.
WPM will not play them.
Nor Quicktime, Zoom Player, Nero, Adobe, or anything else I try.

crazy.gif <-- that's me trying to figure it out.

I have downloaded and reinstalled MPC again, VLC again, upgraded WMP to the latest version and codec packs out of the whazoo. Nothing works so far. sad.gif

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for the replies.

Sounds like a corrupted .avi file.

Or, depending on the source of the files, they might be fake. Many peer-to-peer networks are full of fake and malicious files.
