Vista Corrupt can I install Windows 7 over it?

Hi, new to your forum. I have Dell laptop with dual core, and when trying to upgrade anothr program last nite got a "CRC" error? Tech said Windowsis corrupt, need to do full wipe and reinstall. Can I (and woudl you recomend) Installign windows 7 over it, will this eliminate tehneed to wipe it all out?

If windows 7 were a clean install I would do it, how over upgrading an operating system that is not properly functioning may cause further problems.

If you use the full Win 7 Disk and do a clean install I'd say yes

If you use the Win 7 Upgrade Disk I'd say no.
