If it doesn't have any sort of monthly fee ill probably pick it up sometime.

There is no monthly fee with a single player game. There is absolutely no multiplayer at all with the game, which is great. This game is the spiritual successor to the uber-popular Baldur's Gate RPG's from the late 90's. From what I can tell, the PC version is superior in that it has more options, has better controls, and is less expensive than the console versions.

OK, so it's been about a month. So what do you think of the game? Is it worth it? I'm thinking about buying it but I've heard very little about it and don't want to spend a bunch of money on something that's not worth it.

Is it the new Diablo2?

Personally I think the game is excellent. Truly an epic. Some really annoying bugs with the downloadable content though where you can suddenly lose armor from it.

I love the game. It's not meant to be a fast paced game, but a slower one where the story takes center stage. People who have no problems spending 50 or more hours playing a game where strategy dominates more than reflexes will enjoy it. Those who play shooters almost exclusively will hate it. It's a classic PC RPG.

You will have to play the game several times to really flesh out the story, so once is never enough. For me, each play through takes about 50 hours. It's long, but it is bliss.

Anyone playing this on older hardware?

I'm running XP Pro on a Pentium 4 3GHz, with an Nvidia Geforce 7800GS card and 3Gb RAM.

Think that setup will be able to run it on decent graphic settings?
