I'm only speculating that it's the Power Supply, hopefully someone either can assure me of that or tell me what exactly it might be.
I'm running an ASUS CG5290
2.66ghz processor
9GB DDR3
1TB HD
Intel i7
GeForce GTX260 video w/ 896mb memory
This is a brand new unit, only about a month old. However, I've started to have a strange problem that I've never encountered in any of my other computers. About a week ago, I noticed that the system didn't wake up from Sleep mode after waking up in the morning. I rebooted the system, but it wouldn't turn on. Instead, the led power light flickered and the system did not respond. In an attempt to fix, i turned the manual on/off switch off in the back, took out the power cord and left it out for a minute. pluged everythign back in and tried it again. Same thing. I could hear a slight "buzz" sound that was very quick as i turned it on, but nothing else. After 3 or so attempts, it would work. However, upon having this happen days later, I couldn't do this trick again.
I took out a new PS cord, and plugged it in, and it worked fine. Figuring that was it, I went about my way. Tonight, my mouse began running quite sluggish, so i went to replace the batteries in it. When I had done so, i noticed my entire system had frozen. Again, the system would not respond from a reboot. I tried switching outlets also, via an extension cord, and it did work, but I don't want to keep it that way.
I have also noticed that my NB temp seems to run relatively higher than any others, at 71 degrees or so. My ASUS AI Probe continues to warn my about it, but i'm in no way pushing the system or overclocking. just web browsing and gaming that isn't very system agressive.
Any ideas on what it could be. I'm pretty tech savy so I can at least understand terms you might use, but I'm kidna clueless on hardware modding or anything in the case. Thanks for your help!
